Rent subsidy is a subsidy provided by the province Tyrol to support you with your monthly rental fee.

Who is entitled to receive rent subsidy?

In principle the students in question must be Austrian citizens. Foreign citizens may only be treated equally in the case of close relations to Austria.­Only residents who are living in­ independent residences, with their own front door and private (unshared) facilities such as kitchen, shower and toilet, are qualified for rent allowance. You won´t receive rent subsidy for rooms in students houses.

­Where can I find the rent subsidy department in Innsbruck?

To apply for rent subsidy you have to visit the appropriate municipial office. In Innsbruck the appropriate department is located in Maria- Theresienstraße 18/ 2nd floor. The opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 08.00 AM until midday, Tuesdays and Thursdays they are also open to public in the afternonn from 02.00 until 04.00 PM.
